Our Initiatives

The three pillars of what we do — advocacy, action, and education.

Central Texas Climate Summit

Our flagship convening, now in its second year. On September 4 we bring students, nonprofits, city staff, and organizers into one room at CGCS for a working session — a short panel, then most of the day in small groups turning shared priorities into named actions.

Working Groups

The part that outlasts the summit. Small standing groups form around the priorities the room picks — air and water, transit, energy, land use, civic infrastructure — and keep meeting through the year instead of losing momentum after one good day. Coming together this fall.

Open Government Partnership (OGP)

We partner with the City of Austin and community organizations to research climate goals, track progress, and advocate for transparency and accountability in local environmental policy.

Eco Campaigns & the Community Garden

Our Eco Campaigns turn sustainability into action through themed projects, workshops, and challenges. The Highland Community Garden is the home base — open gardening days, produce that goes straight to students, and service hours that count.
